FoodCTRL
A digital HACCP log for school catering kitchens. Kitchens record their daily checks on an Android tablet, inspectors work in their own app, and managers see the results in a web app. We designed, built and run the system.
Tech stack
With a paper HACCP log you can't see who filled in what and when, problems surface after the fact, and before an official inspection someone has to gather up the sheets. Head office only learns late what is happening in the kitchens, and the kitchens often have no stable internet.
If a fridge temperature falls outside the allowed range, the system opens an issue that also shows up for managers. Once the kitchen corrects the answer, the issue closes.
The tablet stores entries locally and sends them when the connection comes back. The same entry can never be saved twice. After three days offline, the app won't allow new entries until it has synced.
The kitchen assistant answers from the law, official food-safety guidance and the kitchen's own hygiene manual, with page numbers. The managers' AI chat turns HACCP data into summaries and suggestions.

Every entry is saved with its time, kitchen and form version, and cannot be deleted. During an inspection the tablet opens an authority view, and head office can export whatever it needs to Excel.
