Social mobile app + website
MyContacts is a Hungarian social mobile app for iOS and Android. Users describe themselves with hashtags, and others find them by those tags and by city, whether they are individuals or businesses. We designed the app, the backend and the mycontacts.hu website, and we continue to develop and run them.

On the usual social networks it is hard to find like-minded people and local businesses, because profiles can't be searched by interest and city.
What we delivered
- Tags on the profile: at least 3 at sign-up, up to 20, with autocomplete when searching
- Vibe: 6 emoji reactions; on a mutual vibe both sides get a notification
- Block and report: profiles reported several times rank lower in recommendations
- VIP subscription and an MC Coin shop, paid through the App Store and Google Play
The solution
Search and recommendations
Search filters by tag, name and city. The recommender on the Discover tab collects candidates from several sources, such as shared tags, the same city and similar users, then ranks them by 12 signals.
Vibes and notifications
Users can send a vibe to a profile with one of 6 emoji reactions; a vibe lasts 7 days. If it is mutual, both sides get a push notification. Received vibes have their own list.
Shop and VIP
MC Coins buy profile charms and a verified badge. The VIP subscription adds a badge and a boost in discovery. Purchases go through the stores' own payment.
